Throughout Europe Zehnder Pumps are a sign of longevity and quality. In particular the entrepreneurial vision of the company founder Jürgen Zehnder has made Zehnder Pumps the well-known specialist for pump technology and sewage solutions that it is today. In this manner the company was one of the first to put an innovative sewage lifting unit with plastic collecting tank on the market. Furthermore he laid the foundation stone for growth by investments. The whole team was involved in the development of new products and the improvement of product quality. This continuity is the guarantor that brand products from Zehnder Pumps enjoy an excellent reputation in Germany, neighbouring countries and all over Europe. 

The history of Zehnder Pumpen GmbH in the overview

1970		Juergen Zehnder takes over the paternal business ‘Zehnder Mechanik’
1976		Change of name to ‘Zehnder Pumpen’, start of the production of waste water lifting units and submersible pumps
1992		Start of the production of garden pumps, electronic pressure pumps and house water systems
1992		Initiation of the production plant in Leipzig/Engelsdorf
1993		Change of name to ‘Zehnder Pumpen GmbH Pumpen und Anlagenbau’
1994		Initiation of another production plant on the site of the Elektromotorenwerk EMG in Gruenhain
2001		Relocation of the head office of ‘Zehnder GmbH Pumpen und Anlagenbau’ from Frankfurt/Main to Gruenhain, the service department of Zehnder Frankfurt as a branch office still services the customers of the Rhine-Main-Area
2002		Finishing of the extensive reconstruction and restoration works on the historical company building from 1906, the administration department as well the production department are now working efficiently on modern, process-oriented workplaces
2005		Dieter Strasser, Service Manager of the branch office Zehnder Frankfurt becomes independent with Zehnder Service Frankfurt
2007		The MS Industrie AG (former GCI Management AG) takes over the consolidated companies from Juergen Zehnder in the course of a succession plan
2007		Hans-Joerg Herold becomes Managing Director of Zehnder Pumpen GmbH in October
2010		Orientation towards growth by a new corporate structure: ‘Wachstumsfonds Mittelstand Sachsen (WMS), ‘MS Industrie AG’ (over EMG) as well as ‘MuM Industriebeteiligungen’
